"YOSHO UNMASKED"
Ayeka stood before him, shocked, a hand to her lips.
"My brother...you're not old?"
Yosho bowed his head in shame. "No...I'm afraid not, Ayeka."
Ayeka's emotions were perilously close to the surface. "And you did this to break our engagement?"
"Yes." He paused. "I'm sorry."
"But...but why! I HAVE to know!"
"Well, sister...when we were engaged all those years ago, I was happy about it. And I wanted to marry you."
Ayeka nodded.
"But then...something happened. You...I changed. We both changed. I feel like we grew apart."
"Then...it was my fault?"
"No...yes...no." He paused, then nodded decisively. "No, it wasn't your fault. It's the nature of all creatures, all people to change as they grow up."
"You didn't love me anymore."
"No! Don't say that! I always loved you, Ayeka. And I will always love you. But...I love you as my sister. I no longer love you like a lover. Like I did, back then."
Something about that didn't sound quite right to Ayeka. "Uh...could you run that by me again?"
"Yes, I can remember it well...you were all I could think about, Ayeka. All those days...all those nights. Those long, long, lonely nights, filled with thoughts of you. I could only imagine you were with me...beside me. But then, as you grew older, my thoughts towards you changed. And I...I had a new lover in mind. I broke it off with you because I didn't want to hurt you. Because all I could think of was the new lover of my dreams."
"You mean...Airi?"
"Huh? Oh, no, not her. I mean Sasami. Oh yeah, she's the one who I really got interested after you hit puberty. Ooh, yeah. And now she's here. And still available. And still YOUNG!"
"You've...you've got a thing for SASAMI?"
"Uhh...kinda. But it's okay! I'm a priest!"
Yosho's obituary made the front page of the next edition of the Juraian Times.
